  1. How do I download and install Boingo Mobile software to my Nokia handset?
    • Download Boingo Mobile software here. You can download the software to your laptop and then transfer over using Nokia PC Suite, or you can download directly to your phone through an open hotspot or cellular data connection. Boingo Mobile is also available via the Nokia Download! application on select Nokia S60 devices.

  2. How do I sign up for a Boingo Mobile subscription?
    • Via your Nokia device: sign up for an account by opening the Boingo Mobile application and selecting Sign up Now! When you have completed the signup process, your device will update with the latest hotspot settings.
    • Via your laptop: visit mobile.boingo.com/nokia/signup. Once you have completed the signup process, open Boingo Mobile on your Nokia handset, go to Settings, and enter the username and password you created. Your device will update with the latest hotspot settings.

  3. How do I connect to a Boingo Mobile Hotspot?
    • First, make sure you are in a Boingo Mobile Hotspot (find one here: mobile.boingo.com/locations).
    • Launch the browser on your handset.
    • Enter a URL or bookmark.
    • You will be prompted to select an access point. Boingo should be one of these options. If not, please cancel and try once again.
    • Select Boingo (this appears only if a Boingo Mobile Hotspot is available).
    • You will notice login messages during the authentication process.
    • Your webpage will open after these login messages complete.

  4. Sometimes, when I go to a Boingo Mobile location, I don†t see the Boingo network. What should I do to connect?
    • If you don†t see the Boingo network right away, waiting for a short period of time (less than 5 minutes) so the WLAN scanner can find us, or trying to connect a second time.

  5. Why do I sometimes see a blank web page after trying to connect to a Boingo network?
    • If your device was unable to obtain an IP address or the wireless access point was not behaving properly, the browser will show a blank page. The best thing to do is to try to connect again. If the problem persists, please send us an with your location, the date, and the time, and we†ll investigate the network.

  6. I have an early version of the N95. Will Boingo Mobile work on it?
    • Yes, Boingo Mobile will work with the original version of the N95 but you may have to update the web browser. Check your firmware version to see if you need to do this.
    • To check your firmware version - dial *#0000# on your phone. If the version is v10.x.xxx, you will need to download and install the Opera browser. You can do this at: opera.com/products/mobile/products/s60/.

  7. If I change my username or password via my laptop at http://my.mobile.boingo.com, do I need to update Boingo Mobile?
    • Yes, if you change your username or password via your laptop at my.mobile.boingo.com, your hotspot data will not get updated on the phone until you enter your new username and/or password on the phone as well.
    • To do so, open the Boingo Mobile application on your phone, select Settings and enter your new username and/ore password. Once you have done this, your phone will be updated with latest hotspot data.

  8. Can I install the Boingo Mobile client from a MacIntosh to a Nokia phone?
    • Yes, you can install Boingo Mobile from your MAC to your S60 device using Bluetooth. Once Boingo Mobile is moved to your phone, the installation WILL begin automatically.

  9. After I re-boot my phone, how long should I wait before starting Boingo Mobile?
    • After the phone restarts, the Boingo Mobile application will take approximately 30 to 45 seconds to initialize. If you try to start the application within this time, you may see an error message. If you do, start the application again and it will work fine. The best thing to do is wait 30 to 45 seconds after re-boot before starting Boingo Mobile.

  10. What do I do if my device behaves strangely or freezes?
    • If your device is low on memory or disk space, it may freeze or show you error messages during updates of your hotspot data. About 100kb of free disk space is recommended at all times. Free up disk space for optimal application behavior.

  11. How do I manually update the configuration version of Boingo Mobile software?
    • Ensure that you have an active Internet connection available (it need not be a Boingo connection)
    • Open the Boingo Mobile client for S60 (look in the "Applications" folder)
    • Go to "Settings"
    • Select "Options"
    • Select "Update hotspots"
    • Select "Update now"
