Boingo Mobile Quick Start Guide for Nokia Nseries and Eseries Devices

  1. Download and install the Boingo Mobile software to your device. Download sites:
  2. mobile.boingo.com/nokia.
    • Nokia Download! application on select devices.
    • OS2008 user site for N800/N810 Internet tablets.

    Alternatively, you can download the Boingo Mobile software to your laptop and transfer the software via:
    • Nokia PC Suite to your Nokia S60 device.
    • The supplied USB cable to your N800/N810 Internet Tablet.
  3. Sign up for an account by opening Boingo Mobile and selecting Sign up Now! When you have completed the signup process, your device will update with the latest hotspot settings.
  4. Alternatively, you can create a Boingo Mobile account on your laptop at mobile.boingo.com/nokia/signup. When done, open Boingo Mobile and enter the username and password you created via:
    • Settings on your Nokia S60 device.
    • Existing Members on your N800/N810 Internet Tablet.
  5. To configure Boingo Mobile, you must first connect to the Internet (e.g., via Wi-Fi at a Boingo Hotspot or an open Wi-Fi network like your home or office, or via cellular if available on your handset).
    • On Nokia S60-based devices, open Boingo Mobile and go to Settings to enter the username and password you created during signup.
    • On the N800/810 Internet tablets, open Boingo Mobile and go to Existing Member to enter the username and password you created during signup.
    • Once you enter your username and password, the device will automatically update with the latest hotspot settings.
  6. Connect to a Boingo Mobile Hotspot (find one here: mobile.boingo.com/nokia/locations). Once you arrive at the Boingo hotspot:
  7. On Nokia S60 devices:
    1. Launch the browser.
    2. Enter a URL or bookmark.
    3. You will be prompted to select an access point. Boingo should be one of these options. If not, please cancel and try once again.
    4. Select Boingo (this appears only if a Boingo hotspot is available).
    5. You will notice login messages during the authentication process.
    6. Your webpage will open after these login messages complete.
    On N800/N810 Internet tablets:
    1. Launch the wireless connection manager.
    2. Look for the network name associated with the hotspot.
    3. Select and save to your connectivity settings so that Boingo Mobile will automatically connect you to this network in the future.
    4. Boingo Mobile will automatically connect you.
    For an optimal browsing experience on S60-based smartphones, set your browser to Always ask:
    1. In the browser, select Options.
    2. Select Settings.
    3. Select General.
    4. Select Access Point and make sure that the option Always ask is selected.
